As I pulled out the bin of Owen's 3-6 month
clothes from the attic the memories
of my first sweet baby flooded the room.
It brought tears to my eyes!
Each outfit told a story...
the story of Owen!
The story of a blue eyed baby who
grew up to fast.
With every outfit I pulled out
I could remember a special time...
a special place...
a wonderful memory!

It melts my heart to see my sweet baby Gavin
wearing his big brothers clothes.
I love that I get to relive some sweet Owen
memories and make new ones with Gavin!

it may be strange how happy

these tiny size 3-6 month outfits make me.

But each one...

each tiny little outfit

makes me smile and remember

all of Owen's milestones and 

the milestones that are ahead for Gavin.

the mommy of 2 sweet boys

that are growing up to fast.

I know now that Gavin will grow out of these

clothes all too soon.

His tiny little feet will no longer fit

into these cute little dinosaur socks...

but for now...

they do and I'm loving every second

with my baby...

How did you get to be 3 years old?
It seems like just yesterday we were
taking a taxi cab ride to Beth Israel Hospital!
It seems like just yesterday I held a 7lb 13 ounce
baby boy in my arms!
It seems like it was just yesterday that
we decided that you were indeed Owen Nicholas...
your sweet little face just fit that name!
Every year on this day I think back to what I was doing
on the day that you were born.
I think about daddy and I waiting in our apartment in NYC...
I think about not knowing for sure if "This is it"
I think about how funny it is that I wore daddy's sweat pants
to the hospital because I just didn't care what I looked like.
I think about how scared I was when your heart rate fell.
I think about how you looked when I first saw you!
I even think about "dolla's baby mama drama"
I even laugh about it now!!!
I wonder how dolla's baby is doing these days : )
We were so excited to meet you...
to see you...
to hold you...
On the day that you were born we were truly
blessed with the sweetest baby boy who keeps
us laughing and smiling everyday!
How did we get here Owen?
How did you get to be 3 years old?
I'm not sure why time goes by so fast...
but I have enjoyed every second of being your Mommy!

First day at preschool : September 9, 2010

Today was Owen's first day of "real" preschool!
Sure he's been going to a Moms morning out
for awhile now...
but this is different!
This is the real deal...
preschool!
It's a  bitter sweet feeling...
my baby is gone but I have this
amazing "big boy" that is taking his place!
A big boy that's ready to spread his wings...
just a little bit!
When I dropped him off he didn't even look back...
my baby is gone...
he's a big boy now!

The Moo Cow

It seems we have a house guest these days!
Not just any house guest...
but an imaginary cow guest!
According to Owen there is a "Moo Tow"
in his room!
This Moo Cow comes in his room and gets his things!!
That's why he puts all of his toys and his favorite blankets
underneath the covers!
He pushes them all the way down to the end of the bed!
That's where they are safe from the Moo Cow.

At first we thought that he was afraid of the Moo Cow.

But as the days went on we realized that he wasn't 

really scared.

He just doesn't want the Moo Cow to get his things!

This is Owen's first imaginary friend.

It's so neat to see his imagination bloom!

I can't wait to hear more stories about our newest

house guest!

I wonder how long he will be staying????

Party Time

As Owen gets older he's starting
to get it!
He's starting to get what this birthday party
thing is all about!
He loves to sing "Happy Day to you!
He gets excited when it's cake time!
He's starting to get it...
and its fun!
I can't wait until it's his birthday!
Now that he gets it!

This guy sure is going to be a lot of fun in college : )

Owen loved playing in the Ocean in the Outer Banks! He could hardly wait for a wave to come crashing in. Each time he would get so excited and say "Wait for it....Wait for it!" It was hilarious!! I just love how excited he gets.  His zest for life truly is contagious!

Lucky Ducks

We had such a perfect sunny day for a picnic! It was a hot day... a very hot day! A shady place to sit and a pond full of ducks was all we needed to make our day complete. Lucky Ducks! Lucky for the ducks that Owen didn't eat the bread from his Ham and Cheese Sub! Lucky Ducks! Lucky for the ducks that Owen wanted to share his Cheese Nips. Lucky Ducks! I had forgotten how much fun it could be to feed the ducks! I love being a parent because I get to see things through my children's eyes! Maybe I'm the lucky Duck!These ducks were smart and jumped up on land to get they yummy Cheese Nips and bread. Owen thought it was hilarious! He fed them with his hand... they jumped up and grabbed it. Lucky Ducks! Such a fun way to spend an afternoon! All 4 of us on this hot, sunny, beautiful Carolina day! Lucky Ducks! These are the memories that we will treasure! We are indeed... Lucky Ducks!

Little Hugh Hefner : )

While a blow up pool in the back yard isn't exactly the pool at the playboy mansion our little Hugh Hefner didn't seem to mind. He was surrounded by 3 little cuties! He was the only boy! It seems that Owen always surrounds himself with girls!! I think we have a ladies man in training!

The Big Kid Slide

This summer the baby pool is for babies! It's not near thrilling enough for our little thrill seeker! This summer he's a big kid... time for the big kid slide!

Playdate time!!!

We have been off the playdate circuit for a few weeks now but we were back in full swing today with baby Gavin it tow. I have experienced so much mommy guilt because every morning Owen asks to see his friends. Ugh!! It broke my heart to tell him " No, not today!" He was so happy when I told him we were going to Ava Grace's house to see his friends. As Owen always says it was a happy day!! He loved playing in the pools and splashing with his good buddies Jackson, Taylie, and Ava Grace!!
