Christmas

Christmas is so much fun when you are a big 2 year old! You get lots of fun presents that you love. You get a lot of Yo Gabba Gabba, tons of cars, and best of all your very own jumpy house!!! What more can a 2 year old ask for!! I think he got everything he asked Santa for. After all he had been a very good boy all year! It was a very special Christmas and the last christmas it will be just the 3 of us! Next year there will be 4! This was truly an extra special Christmas...Just the 3 of us.

Christmas is exhausting! Owen Vader Hugs! Sharing Christmas goodies!

Twas the night before Christmas

Christmas Eve was a busy day for our favorite 2 year old! We started off the day at Grandpa Hugh's house to celebrate with daddy's family. Owen was so excited to play with baby Gabe. He made sure that Gabe had his tee-tee at all times. For those that don't speak Owenese a tee-tee is a blanket. He was so sweet to baby Gabe!! He's going to be a great big brother! Around 5:30 it was time to head to Aunt Barbara and Uncle Johns house. After a fun but brief stop there we headed out to Aunt Penny's house. Owen had a blast playing with all of his cousins. It's so nice having so many kids around at Christmas! It sure makes Christmas fun! After all the presents were opened it was time to head home to wait for Ho-Ho.(That's Owenese for Santa)

Santa Round 3!

As the old saying goes the third time was a charm!!! Our first 2009 visit to Santa was met with a sad face and sliding off of his lap along with a few screams of MAMA!!! The second attempt at Daddy's office didn't go so well either but, we did get a really cute family picture. In between trips to see Santa we really talked him up! We read stories, peaked at him in the mall and waved, looked for him in holiday decorations, and colored Santa pictures!! As time went on he became affectionately known as H0-HO. He would point HO-HO out everywhere we went!! I was so excited that he had come to love Santa! SUCCESS!!! On our third and final attempt there were a lot of obstacles in our way of achieving our goal. We had to wait in a long line but have no fear because we were prepared. James and I took turns entertaining our little Christmas elf until it was our turn. It was either going to go great or horribly wrong!! O-man did not disappoint... he was a Christmas rock star slapping Santa 5 and crawling up on his lap. There were hugs, there were giggles, there were big bright Owen smiles. I think I took over a 100 pictures because it was just that good. When it was all done Owen got his elf ears and book, slapped HO-HO another 5 and said his goodbyes. I was so proud of our little man.

Painting Christmas Ornaments

Owen really enjoyed painting his Christmas Ornaments! He kept saying "I paint!....I Paint!" Although he had a great time painting I must say that a 2 year old using Acrylic paint is not for the faint of heart. It's a lot different than washable markers!! There is no way to get it out once it's on clothes. In the end we had some really cute ornaments that I will treasure for many years to come!

Snow!

While we were leaving the Christmas party it started to snow. Although you can't really see it in the pictures it's really snowing!! Owen really wanted to go outside and play but, I really wanted him to take a nap! I'm glad that I let him go outside and play because when he woke up it was over. This was enough snow for me!!! Bring on Spring!

Christmas Party at Daddy's office

It was time for the annual children's Christmas party at daddy's office!!! Owen was big enough this year to really enjoy all the fun!! An exciting addition this year was the Little Land Band playing. Owen has been a big fan since he was small. They also made it snow this year so the kids could go sledding!!! This was the best part for Owen and James. It's always fun to visit daddy at work!!! I bet Owen wonders if daddy sleds all day and plays???

A new addition

We are going to have a new addition to our family in May!!! We are so excited to have another little one around. Most of all we are excited that Owen will have a brother!!! Yep! Another boy! It's true that Hanson's don't have girls!!! We confirmed it today during our third ultrasound. There was no doubt about it Baby Hanson part deux is a healthy 18wk baby boy/fetus.
This is baby Hanson's first photo-op!! He's 8 weeks old here!! He has no idea what the mamarazzi has in store for him once May rolls around. Hope he likes having his picture taken!
A new addition is going to bring many changes to our little family. James and I will almost be out numbered!! Even with all of the challenges that 2 children will bring we are thrilled to go through the good, the bad and the ugly through each stage!! A toddler and an infant!!! Are we crazy!? Just Maybe!
This is baby Hanson part Deux at 13 weeks! We found during this ultrasound that he indeed was a boy!
During our ultrasounds the doctor has been checking for the usual problems that can occur during pregnancy. Baby H has gotten a clean bill of health. During this pregnancy we learned that Owen had what's called a Velamentous insertion of the umbilical cord. (Don't open the link if you are squeamish.... They show a real example at the bottom of the page) This is what led to an emergency C-Section. The doctor said that it was a rare condition and most likely wouldn't happen again but, they would be able to see it in an ultrasound. The doctor checked today and it appears that Baby H is in the clear. His umbilical cord is perfectly normal!! What a relief!!!! So we are counting our blessing for our healthy baby boy!! This is baby H with his arm bent touching his neck! He's 18 weeks in this picture!! Side profile 18 weeks along and we are almost halfway there!!! This pregnancy has flown by!!!!
