Owen and the snowy day!

This morning Owen got to experience his first real snow. James and I were both excited to take him outside!!! I think we spent more time getting him dressed then we spent outside : ) It was way too cold this morning and he wouldn't leave the gloves on his hands or the hat on his head. He did have fun trying to catch the snow and playing with his dad. We are going to try again this afternoon.

Amit and Leena

Amit and Leena came from NYC to visit us in our new house. It was so nice to see them again. The last time they saw Owen he was only a few weeks old. They brought him some really great books that we can't wait to read. Our favorite is "Good Night New York City". It's such a cute book! Hopefully we can visit them in NYC very soon!!!

First day at school

Owen is now going to preschool one day a week to a mothers morning out program. The morning started out hopeful that he would be able to make the transition and be ok with mommy not being there. He wasn't thrilled with me leaving and he was less than thrilled with his teachers. I only left him for a little over an hour... I couldn't stand the thought of him crying. The teachers said that it was normal but he cried A LOT! I have to say I am really surprised by his reaction because he loves kids and always goes to people he doesn't know. On many occasions he has made himself at home on some other mommy's lap. We are hoping that each week gets a little easier for him. Yeah For School!

A look back

January 2008

January 2009

Goodbye 2008! What a wonderful year it was. Owen started 2008 as a little tiny baby and ended it as a full blown toddler. It's incredible how much he has changed over 365 days. As I reflect on this year I realize how fast time is slipping by. I hope to make 2009 slow down! This year he grew so fast and learned so much. He's walking, kinda talking, making messes, and into everything. I can hardly keep up with him. I hope he always keeps his sense of curiosity and his sense of humor. I do hope that he learns a little bit of fear this year. As of now he isn't afraid of anything. I'm not going to be surprised if I find him jumping from the top of the refrigerator. I can't wait to see what he learns in 2009!

I didn't think it was possible to love him more than the day I brought him home from the hospital but I do. I love the laughter he brings to our home and the sense of peacefulness at night as he drifts off to sleep. I love how he now recognizes me as his mommy and how much he adores his dad! I think it's safe to say that I would do it all over again in a heartbeat. I'm so thankful for this amazing little boy and I am blessed to be his mother.
