The Rain Forest Swing is still going strong!!!

The swing is still going strong! Owen still loves to get in his swing every now and then. I checked the weight limit and it goes until 25 lbs. Owen is most likely right around there. When he is swinging the swing makes the most annoying creaking sound. It sounds like it is about to die! This is the only baby item that I can actually say was worth every penny :)

You can actually hear the swing creaking in this video. I don't have the heart to tell him that he's too big : (

Gymboree

Owen and I were off to Gymboree today! We signed up for the music class. I thought this would be fun for him because he loves music. Of course the day we went was country western day. To my dismay it seemed more like bluegrass day. I decided to be a good sport and go through with it. Owen loved the shakers and beating on the drum. But most of the time he looked at the teacher like she was nuts. He left me all by myself and sat in another moms lap and hungout there. She had a scarf on that he wanted so badly to play with... so I didn't take it personally. So there I was singing "Have you ever gone to meetin' Uncle Joe" all by myself. I still hear this song in my head. Finally Owen came back over in time to sing "Way down yonder in the paw paw patch"! Owen got a kick out of this song and was clapping along. He got really excited when the teacher sang his name in the song. Hopefully next time we go will not be country western day!!!!

Look at my hairdo this morning!!

I couldn't help but laugh when I saw his hair this morning. The little piece in the front was standing straight up : ) Look close or you may not see it! A little water and a brush and he was all ready for his playdate today. It's a good thing he was having a better hair day because he met lots of new friends.

Friends

Owen and Cooper are starting to have a lot of fun together. Of course the fun has to be on Cooper's terms. Owen gets a real kick out of Coop. He cracks up when he looks at him. Coop is being a really good sport and is being gentle with Owen. He never barks or growls. When he has had enough he goes upstairs, downstairs, or any other place Owen can't get.

We are in the double digits!!

Double Digits!!!!!!!

I can't believe that he is in the double digits now!! Ten months have flown by and I wish that I could freeze time and keep him my little baby for just a little while longer. The closest I get to that is when he lets me rock him to sleep. My little guy is already to busy to hang out with his mom. James and I have learned a lot about our little man over the course of 10 months. So I thought I would share with you some of the things our little guy does....
He likes to sleep in the corner of the bed. Awwww look how cute he is when he sleeps. When he is like this I get a little glimpse of the baby I brought home from the hospital.
He loves "Hanging" out with his dad!
His hair is long enough to style in the bathtub : )

He really likes petting Cooper. When he does it he says p p p. It sounds like he is trying to say pat, pat, pat! As you can see Cooper is thrilled about this : ( He has meltdowns!!! He plays Patty Cake!

He has the most beautiful blue eyes I have ever seen!

Happy 10 month Birthday!!!!!!

Ravioli + Baby= a big mess

James and I had Ravioli for dinner tonight and we shared some with Owen. Not only does Ravioli taste good but it also feels good to squish. He was covered from head to toe in pasta and pasta sauce. He rubbed it in his hair, in his eyes, and on his shirt.

Maryland

This weekend we traveled to Maryland and had a very busy itenerary. We woke up early Friday morning for the 6 hour drive. The drive was pretty easy and Owen did a great job. Once we got to Maryland we ate lunch with Owen's great granparents. Then he had some fun in Pa's garden.

Checking out the baby birds

Next we drove to Salisbury to meet Owen's grandmother Sally for a trip to the Salisbury Zoo. Owen really liked to look at the Buffalo and the Flamingos. We had a great time strolling around the Zoo and checking out the animals.

After the Zoo we met Owen's grandfather Hugh and his Aunt Penny for a dinner at Adams Ribs. Owen was so good at dinner! We were worried how he would be since he didn't take a nap. He ate his dinner and practiced clapping his hands and tapping on the table. On Saturday Owen spent the morning in OC at the pool with his mom mom. Then it was back to Salisbury for Annie's baby Shower. Owen was so good at the shower and he kept everyone entertained. He is such a sweet little guy and let everyone hold him. After the shower he took a 15 minute power nap and then got a bath and it was onto the Old Mill for dinner.

Corn on the cob is tasty!

Owen was showing John his flip cup skills!

He is a big fan of Hush puppies!

We woke up Sunday morning and drove to Ocean City to get some lunch at the Boardwalk. Owen had plain breadsticks and the rest of us had pizza. After lunch we set off for NC and another 6 hour drive.

Let me help Dad!

Owen loves the computer and is very eager to help type an email or a blog entry. He was helping James do some very important work and showing his daddy his computer skills. He was also showing his daddy that the computer could be used as a teething ring.

Hello Kitty Cat

Owen is really curious about the Kitty Cat. Whenever he sees her he points and waves. Occasionaly he says k k k k. Surprisingly the cat is very tolerent of Owen. I was expecting her to hiss or swipe at him. She does it to everyone else : ( But for some reason she tolerates Owen and when she has had enough she runs away. In this video I was trying to hold Owen back because this is the closest she has ever let him get. He was thrilled! I was really hoping he would say k k k k k but, he never does those things when the camera is out.

My new wheels!

My friend Andrea has been a lifesaver for us. She has let us borrow a lot of Carter's baby things. As some of you know I have spent a small fortune on things that I thought Owen would just love. But he didn't really care for any of them. Recently she let us borrow a walker. At first Owen really hated it until one day he got the hang of it when he figured out how to back up. Then he couldn't get enough of it. Now he wheels around the house chasing Cooper, running over our feet, and crashing into our heels. I also think he liked it more because we have no furniture downstairs while we are waiting for the new stuff to be delivered. He has tons of space to wheel around.

Happy 4th of July!

Happy Fourth of July!!!!!

This was Owen's first 4th of July celebration. It was a fun filled day with new and old friends. Our neighborhood had a block party celebration which was a lot of fun. We got to meet a lot of our new neighbors and spend time with some we had already met. Owen was a big hit and was quite the little patriot! We had a little cook out at our house at the end of the night and watched a few fireworks being set off. We only saw a few because a terrible storm blew through just as they were starting.

Playdate fun!

Owen's friends came over to play for awhile. He was really excited to see Emily. They played and played until they were exhausted. It's really cute to see Owen play with other littles ones that are his age.

Awwww I love this picture!

9 month check up

We were a little late getting Owen's 9 month check up done because our favorite doctor was on vacation. Dr. Gessner said Owen was perfect. He is growing at just the right pace and hitting all his developmental milestones. James and I had a ton of questions for the doctor this time around. We asked about organic vs in organic food for Owen since he is eating more table food now. The doctor went over the things he felt important to eat organic. I felt a little better about what we were feeding him. We also shared the good news with the doctor that Owen was no longer on Zantac for his reflux. He was very happy with this news because they get a little worried if children don't outgrow the reflux by their first birthday. Owen thought this was a great doctors visit because there were NO SHOTS!!! However I think they are going to get him pretty good on his next visit. We asked about splitting up the shots on his next visit but the doctor assured us it is best to get it over with all at once. However, I think I will do some more research since he will be getting a lot.
Owen's 9 month stats
Weight: 21.13 lbs
Height: 28 inches
Head circumference: 18 inches
I couldn't believe that Owen was only in the 65th percentile in weight! Who are these other kids that weigh more at 9 months. I can't imagine! Here are some pics from his 9 month check up.
