Halloween 2008

Owen had a great time this Halloween. We had a neighborhood Halloween Party and a big night of Trick or Treating with Carter. He really liked walking around with Carter but most of all he loved the chocolate! He made the cutest Donald Duck EVER!

NC State Fair

Owen made his first visit to the NC State fair. He had so much fun looking at the animals, rides, and of course all the people. But just like his mommy what truly makes the fair so great is the food! Owen had his first taste of some NC BBQ and I think he's a fan. He wouldn't try any of his daddy's corn dog...which I don't blame him. I had a really hard time deciding on what delicious fried treat that I was going to have. Deep fried cheese cake, deep fried oreos, deep fried twinkies, deep fried snicker.. too many choices! So while I was making my choice we got a funnel cake. Yumm! Owen even got a taste. I was on the look out for the silhouette guy. I found him in the village of yesteryear and had him make one for Owen. It came out amazing! To bring our fun night at the fair to an end I decided to pick my poison. Deep fried Oreos it was! They were amazing! It was finally time to hit the road with a belly full of a months worth of calories. Thank goodness the fair is only once a year!

Another day at Stretch and Grow!

Owen has been having a blast at our Wed. Stretch and Grow Class. He still doesn't care for circle time but really loves the free play. Although today he started to clap to the music so there is hope for circle time yet. Here are some videos and pictures of todays fun!
Owen is waiting for his friends to arrive. That's right folks... I got there a little early!

This is Owen's teacher!

It's parachute time!
Owen is feeling the beat! Clap, Clap, Clap!
Scarves can be fun for boys too.

Pumpkin Patch Playdate!

Today Owen and I joined his playdate friends for a trip to the pumpkin patch. Of course we had to wear our cute costumes! This was one of the cutest things I have ever seen. It was impossible to get them all to sit still but I think the pictures are pretty stinkin cute anyway! So enjoy the pics of Owen and his friends!

Playing at the pumpkin patch sure does make you hungry! After we finished playing we went with Emily and her mommy to lunch at the Cheesecake Factory. Yummmm! Owen ate most of my Pasta DaVinci and gulped down some Yo Baby yogurt. We had such a fun day!

Ganyard Hill Farm

Today James and I took Owen to the Ganyard Hill Farm pumpkin patch. Owen had a great time exploring the pumpkin fields and playing in the dirt. He played in the cotton field and found his way through the corn maze with a little help from mommy and daddy. He even got to go on his first hayride! Our little man took his first pumpkin patch trip very seriously... he was taking it all in. It was hard to get very many smiles out of him. He really smiled it up when he found a little friend that was just his size. They played together for a long time and decided that it was fun to sit on top of the pumpkins. What a fun family day!
How tall am I this year?
Owen thought it was fun to play in the dirt!

A new Hair Do!

On Saturday we took Owen to get his first hair cut. I have to admit I was a little sad to say goodbye to those baby curls. I loved his long shaggy hair but, I knew it was time. We went to a really cute place called Snip Its. They make getting a hair cut feel like a trip to Disney. I wasn't sure how Owen was going to react to having a stranger cut his hair. He usually isn't afraid of strangers... except for strangers with scissors. The movie in my mind had Owen smiling for the camera giving mommy great photo ops. The reality of the situation was nowhere near the movie in my mind. He was ok with the chair, the cape, and the lady cutting his hair. The lady even was amazed that it was his first hair cut and he wasn't crying. Bring on the tears! As soon as she sprayed his hair he started crying. So no happy smiling baby pics for us. I felt so guilty letting him cry but there was no turning back once the scissors started chopping. At least he wasn't screaming! All in all his haircut looks good. I was afraid he would get hacked. It's amazing how much it changed how he looks. Goodbye baby hello toddler!
