Owenism: God our Father part II

I finally got Owen to sing
God our Father on video!!
I was hoping he would let
me!
I really wanted to capture
the Oh-man ending : )

Laughter

On most days our house is
filled with laughter!
There are days that my
face hurts from laughing
with these 2 silly boys!
The sound of these two
laughing fills this house
and fills my heart!
There is no greater sound
that I know!

Growing Up

Dear Owen,
You are really growing up
these days!
I can see it in your face!
The chubby little round face
I used to know is gone.
Now I see a big kid...
the big boy that you have become!
Now that you are a big kid
you like to find a quiet spot to read
all of your favorite books!
You love Kevin Henkes books
because the character shares your
name!
You love that the little mouse has a
blanket just like you!
You really like reading  your big kid books to us.
The proud look on your face warms
my heart!
I love the way you use the pictures
to remember the story!
This is a long way from the little
toddler that didn't want to sit still
long enough to read a book!
You are a big kid now and
big kids like to read books!

Now that you are a big kid
you have big kid jobs!
Or as you like to call them...
Owen jobs.
These are jobs that you picked
out all by yourself.
An Owen job is...
Feeding Cooper
Getting the Mail
Putting your cup in the sink
Picking up your toys
These are just a few of the things
that you have started to do!
All on your own.

You are such a big help
to me with Gavin!
You love to get me bags for
the poopy diapers : )
You love to pat his back when
he is sad.
I love how you call him
"Gavy Gav"!
He smiles when he sees
you and he thinks you
are hilarious.
You are turning into such
a sweet big kid.
You have become a
big kid with a huge heart
and a great big smile!
I love the big boy that
you have become!

2 little teeth

Gavin is sporting a new look these days!!
He has said goodbye to the toothless grin
and hello to teeth!!
He has 2 little teeth on the bottom row.
This must be why he has been having a lot
of trouble sleeping!!
I'm kinda sad to see these teeth...
these teeth represent that he is
growing up!
It is a reminder that he isn't going
to be a baby forever and that I need
to cherish every day!
While I will miss that toothless grin
I sure do love this little smile!!

You make me smile : December 17, 2010

Gavin you sure do make me smile
in your super cute baby clothes!!
I love you in your little
sock monkey hat!
You make me smile
everyday!!!
But especially today in this
sweet little outfit!!

You are too adorable for words!!!

Owenism: God our Father

Owen has been saying the funniest things
these days!
I really need to write these things down
before I forget them!!!
Today was one of those days...

It's like pulling teeth to get
any details about his school
day from him.
Today he told me that Jack
splashed him in the face and got
his shirt all wet.
That's it...that's all he had to say.
So I continued to pry...
Our conversation went like this...

me: "Did your teacher read you a book about penguins?"
Owen:   "No"
Me: "Did you go outside to play today?"
Owen: "Yes."
Me: "Did you sing any songs?
Owen: "Yes! We sing God our Fader!"
Me: "Can you sing it for me?"
Owen: " No I can not!"
Me: ( I started to sing a made up version)
Owen: "No Mommy! Like this..."
"God our Fader
God our Fader
We hank you
We hank you
Hank you for food today
Oh-man Oh-Man"

I couldn't help but laugh!
Especially when he got to the
Oh Man part!!

Here are the actual words
Sung to the tune of Are you Sleeping: )

God our Father, God our Father
We thank you, We thank you
For our many blessings
For our many blessings
Amen, Amen

Christmas Traditions Part 4 : Christmas Morning Photo

This may be one of my favorite traditions yet!
This new tradition makes me smile!
It makes me smile to see both of my
little boys together on Christmas morning!
This is the first of many Christmas morning pictures!!!

His First Christmas

Gavin,
This was your very first Christmas!
We were so excited to show you all
of the fun things that Christmas brings.
However you were more interested in
the wrapping paper and bows!
I kinda figured that was going to happen.
You were full of smiles on Christmas!
You smiled and laughed at everyone
who held you!
You made this the merriest Christmas of all!
