Grandfather Mountain Day

On day 2 of our Mountain trip we
decided to head over to Grandfather Mountain.
We loaded up 2 families and headed out
for the day!

There was beautiful scenery
for us to enjoy on the drive...
Which was a good thing because...
We SAT in the car for almost 2 hours
waiting to get in!!
I have never been more Thankful
for the DVD player in the car.
The line just kept going and going!
Gavin kept us entertained as we waited
for our turn...
At least the long wait
allowed us to take in
all of the beautiful fall foliage.
Once inside we saw...
Bears!
Beautiful Mountain Views...

Trees to climb...
Pretty leaves...
Walking trails...

Scenic views...

We visited the Mile High Swinging Bridge...
Owen of course was more interested in
climbing these rocks.

The ride home was also an adventure!
Poor little Gavin was so car sick from
the windy mountain roads!!!
I dare say we had to stop 5 times to
clean him up.  Fun Times!!!
We made the decision to not wait until he
was 2 years old to turn his car seat around.
It seemed to help!!
After the rough beginning and end of the day....
we came home to a perfect sunset....
some super cute kids...
and a warm fire!
